I spent last weekend in Suffolk in a beautiful lodge situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From the top of the decking you could see the sea and within one minute you could’ve have walked to the shore. An ideal location for a relaxing weekend away.

The Lodge
The lodge has an open plan kitchen and living room, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms at the back. The front of the lodge showcases a lovely decking area, with a raised balcony for a sea view. I can’t wait to go back over summer and enjoy the sunshine on the decks.

We’ve started to add in some decor and I got to choose the colours for the twin room – so I obviously opted for yellow. The sun pours straight into this bedroom and creates such a lovely space to relax in the morning.

The Park
The lodge is on Cliff House Park campsite, which offers a quiet wooded environment along with a great bar and restaurant. We had dinner in the site restaurant on Friday night and it was incredible, the menu offers a great selection of dishes and the staff are so friendly. The park offers a perfect base for exploring the Suffolk coast as it is situated so close to the beach and the neighbouring villages.
The Beach
The holiday park is located on the cliffs over the beach, meaning you’re only minutes away from a walk along the shore. The weather was brilliant over the weekend so the sea looked amazing.
You can walk along the beach up to the National Trust site at Dunwich (try the scones at the cafĂ© – they’re so yummy!).

It was so nice to have a weekend break away, especially somewhere as beautiful as this. As we’re in the process of setting the lodge up, we had no Wifi or TV which was a welcomed break. As it turns out, you could get one bar of 4G on the top of the decking, so I sipped my morning coffee up there to get a quick catch up on things.
I can’t wait to get back to the lodge, which we’ve named Nightjar Lodge for now… I’d love to hear people’s suggestions in the comments below! Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed it!
See you on the next post,
Maddie
P.S. Nightjar Lodge will be available to book for holiday lettings from the summer!
